3MT Participant Registration

The Three Minute Thesis (3MT) competition is a skills development activity which challenges scholarly research and creativity-based graduate students to explain their research project or thesis to a non-specialist audience in just three minutes.

Preliminary Heats:
Tuesday, March 10, 2020
8:30am - 4:30pm (each heat is approximately 40 minutes long, you only need to be present for the heat in which your presenting)
Council Chambers, 2nd Floor, The Student Union Building

Finals:
Wednesday, March 11, 2020
6:30pm
McInnes Room, 2nd Floor, The Student Union Building

Registration is open until February 21st. A detailed schedule of the competition will be released after registration closes.

Eligibility

  • Students must be in a research-based Master's or PhD program at Dalhousie.

  • Students must not yet have graduated.

  • Students who have already defended but have not yet graduated are eligible to compete.

  • Students must be available to present in person. It is not possible to have someone present on your behalf.

Students will be randomly sorted into heats and we will do our best to ensure you're placed in one of your preferred times. Number of heats and their times are determined once registration closes, based on the number of participants.
